Starting 2020.05 release, Data Protector no longer supports the Flex-based VMware Granular Recovery Extension (GRE). Data Protector 2020.05 supports the new HTML5 version of the VMware GRE. If you want to use the VMware GRE, you must install the HTML5 plugin after upgrading to DP 2020.05.

With Data Protector 10.00, application support is dropped only for the application/operating system combinations listed in the table below. For example, Oracle 11g remains supported on all existing operating systems, except Solaris 9 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 10, which means customers running Oracle 11g on SUSE SLES 11 are supported in Data Protector 10.00.
In the following table, the cells where Operating Systems column is set as All, the application is no longer supported on any of the operating systems.

3 In Data Protector 10.00, angular GRE plugin replaces the flex plugin. Customers on VMware 5.0, 5.1, and 5.5 U1 are impacted, as GRE flex plugin is not available with Data Protector 10.00. After you upgrade to VMware 5.5 U2, you can use the new angular GRE plugin.
Note that for the customers who cannot upgrade from VMware 5.5 U1 to VMware 5.5 U2, Data Protector 10.00 still supports all backup and recovery operations, including power-on and live migrate operations. The only impact is the unavailability of the GRE plugin.

The Java Web Reporting applet is removed and announced end-of-life in Data Protector 10.00.
The basic scheduler and advanced scheduler features are removed in Data Protector 10.00, and replaced by a new web-based Scheduler. All existing jobs created in basic and advanced scheduler are automatically migrated to the new web-based Scheduler during upgrade. The new web-based Scheduler is accessible using the MFC GUI and the web GUI.
Integration support for LiveVault and IDOL is removed.
