Interactive Uninstallation Guide

Choose an operating system on which NPS is installed

Uninstall on Windows
Uninstall on Linux

Select the operating system on which you want to uninstall NPS.

Choose an uninstallation method

Manual, interactive uninstallation
Command line-based uninstallation

The manual, interactive uninstallation uses an easy-to-use wizard.

The command line-based uninstallation uses a non-interactive command line tool.

Select the NNMi operating system

NNMi is installed on Windows
NNMi is installed on Linux

Select the operating system of the NNMi management server.

Choose the deployment type

Dedicated
Co-located with NNMi on the management server
Distributed deployment of NPS

Choose the type of environment where the NNM iSPI Performance for Metrics is installed.

NPS in a Cluster Environment

NPS is in a high availability (HA) cluster

Select the checkbox if you NPS is installed in an HA cluster.

View or print

You can view your customized document on the screen, or print it.

If you have a PDF print driver installed on your computer, click Print to create PDF documents that are customized according to your selections. PDF print drivers are available from several open source and third-party providers.

Check your selections

The following steps are customized according to your selections. Check that your selections are correct.

 

If any selections are not correct, click Change.

Preparing for Uninstallation

Before uninstallation, you must unconfigure the NPS HA.

To unconfigure the NPS HA, follow these steps:

  1. Log on to the passive node as rootadministrator.
  2. Unconfigure NPS from the HA cluster:

    %NNMInstallDir%\misc\nnm\ha\nnmhaunconfigure.ovpl PerfSPIHA <resource_group>

    /opt/OV/misc/nnm/ha/nnmhaunconfigure.ovpl PerfSPIHA <resource_group>

  3. Log on to the active node as rootadministrator.
  4. Unconfigure NPS from the HA cluster:

    %NNMInstallDir%\misc\nnm\ha\nnmhaunconfigure.ovpl PerfSPIHA <resource_group>

    /opt/OV/misc/nnm/ha/nnmhaunconfigure.ovpl PerfSPIHA <resource_group>

Uninstalling NPS

Run the nnmdisableperfspi.ovpl Script

Before you uninstall NPS, you must run the nnmdisableperfspi.ovpl script on the NNMi management server.

Note: Run the script on each NNMi management server in the Application Failover cluster.

Note: Run the script on each NNMi management server in the HA cluster.

Log on to the NNMi management server as administrator, go to %nnminstalldir%\bin, and then run the nnmdisableperfspi.ovpl script from the command prompt.

Log on to the NNMi management server as root, go to /opt/OV/bin, and then run the nnmdisableperfspi.ovpl script from the command prompt.

Uninstall

You must uninstall NPS from each node in the HA cluster. You must uninstall NPS from the passive node before you start uninstalling from the active node.

If you configured NPS to use external file systems, you must manually delete the database files from each file system. All NPS database file names start with perfspi_IQ.
