General Access

Release Notes

Telnet access commonly disabled

The Big-IP does not support telnet connections by default, so the system attempts to access the device using this protocol will normally fail. We recommend disabling telnet as a protocol to use on these devices to avoid unnecessary failures.

Release Notes

Use Edit & Deploy to modify community strings

Community string management is not supported by the system Password Management. However, you can use Edit & Deploy to modify device community strings if necessary.

Syslog Configuration and Change Detection

Release Notes

Use integrated SSH, console port, or F5 GUI to ensure change detection

For real-time change detection, we recommend that network engineers use the system integrated SSH client, the console port, or the device's graphical user interface (GUI). Otherwise, the system may not detect configuration changes.
