The Nortel VPN Concentrator traditionally uses a string, terminated by the "greater than sign" (>) to delimit the default prompt for the basic administrative login, and the hash sign (#) to delimit the default prompt for the privileged administrative login. These prompts are fully customizable and can include special characters before the terminating character. Users should not modify the device prompt to include either the "greater than sign (>) or he hash sign (#). Assigning these characters to the prompt may result in a various task failures.
When an attempt is made to connect to a Nortel VPN device via SSHv2, the device can become unresponsive ("hang") and not return a valid response. If you see this occuring, you should disable SSHv2 in NAS.
Configuration deployment for then Nortel VPN devices can take up to 30 minutes to complete in a production environment.
If the FTP server is not enabled on the Nortel VPN Concentrator, models 1700/1740/1750/2700/5000, OS version 07_00.062, the Deploy Passwords task is marked as failed. However, the task is successfully run. This is due to the failure of the automatic snapshot triggered by the Deploy Passwords task.
