If the device access variable "execAccessOnly" is set to "true", the driver will not attempt to enter enable mode, but will use the command 'show configuration' from exec mode for its snapshot task. All other tasks will similarly not enter enable mode, but attempt their command from exec mode. Setting this variable will cause any tasks that require enable mode to fail.
Only files on the root of the /flash and /md disks are displayed on the Image Synchronization Report.
Secure Copy Protocol (SCP) can be used only with the /flash disk. Files transferred from the /md disk are copied to a temporary directory (/flash/HP_NA_TEMP_SCP_DIR). As a result, be sure the /flash disk has enough free space to hold the file being transferred during the Update Device Software task.
Secure Copy Protocol (SCP) can be used only with the /flash disk. Because the ‘release download’ command works only with the /md disk, a temporarily directory (/flash/HP_NA_TEMP_SCP_DIR) is created to transfer the firmware to the /md disk. As a result, the /flash disk requires enough free space to hold the file transferred during the Update Device Software task.
Bootrom and MiniKernel images cannot be changed with the Update Device Software task.
Before issuing the ‘release upgrade’ command, the driver will do a series of checks to the output of the ‘show chassis’ and ‘show redundancy’ commands. To disable the pre-update validation script, set the Device Access variable "os_upgrade_checks" to "false".
Discovery tasks for Javascript drivers handle More prompts by using timeouts, which can cause problems with the third-party SSH client code, which interprets the timeout as a disconnection. There are two options to work around the problem. Setting the RCX option [<option name="Driver/Discovery/UsePollRead">true</option>] in site_options.rcx will effect the workaround for all affected devices. Alternatively, it could be applied to a single device by setting the device access variable "PollRead" to "true".
Discovery tasks for Javascript drivers use wakeup characters are sent during device connection, to ensure that the device is responding. Normally, these characters do not echo to the console, but some devices may echo them. In this case, this causes the prompt detection phase to fail, which in turn can cause More prompts to not be handled properly, and discovery may fail. If these characters are echoed from the device [check the session log to see this], then set the device access variable "skip_ctrl_u" to skip the sending of the wakeup characters. Note that setting this option on a previously working device could cause discovery tasks to fail, but it only affects CLI discovery. SNMP discovery is unaffected.
