Stream-Based Event Correlation Rules and Details Panes

The Stream-Based Event Correlation Rules and Details panes display the configured notifications.

UI Element (A-Z)

Description

Refresh

Reloads the Stream-Based Event Correlation Rules list.

New Item

New Item: Opens the New Rules menu from which you can select the type of rule that you want to create:

Edit Item

Edit Item: Opens the Edit Rules dialog box to edit the selected rule.

Alternatively, double-click the rule in the Stream-Based Event Correlation Rules pane to open the rule dialog box.

Delete Item

Delete Item: Deletes the selected rule.

Restore To Default

Restore Default: Restores customer-modified factory-predefined Stream-Based Event Correlation Rules to factory settings.

Restore the Order of All Objects to Default: Restores the order of the factory-predefined Stream-Based Event Correlation Rules to factory settings.

These options have no effect on rules purely defined by the customer.

Activate Item Deactivate Item

Activate/Deactivate Item: Toggles between enabling and disabling the selected rules.

Disabled rules appear dimmed in the list of rules.

Move Down

Move Down: Moves the selected rule down to a later execution time.

Move Up

Move Up: Moves the selected rule up to an earlier execution time.

Manage Event Filters

Manage Event Filters: Opens the Manage Event Filters dialog box, enabling you to select the event filter that you want to apply.

From the Select an Event Filter dialog box, you can also open the Filter Configuration dialog box to create an event filter, edit or delete an existing event filter.

General

Displays a summary of the basic rule attributes:

  • Name (Display Name) of the rule
  • Type of rule (Repetition, Combination, Missing Recurrence, ...)
  • Description of the rule
  • Active indicates whether the selected rule is active.
Artifact Origin

Content types are referred to using the following terminology:

  • Predefined Content

    Predefined content is usually content provided by HPE or HPE Partners and is designed to provide the initial configurations for an OMi installation. After installing a predefined content pack, you may change these initial artifacts to suit your environment and management needs. Any modified predefined artifacts are labeled as Predefined (Customized). It is not possible to remove predefined artifacts, but you can revert any customized artifacts to their original, "predefined" values.

  • Custom Content

    Custom content is content that is created by the customer, for example for managing a custom, in-house application, and is labeled as Custom.

  • Customized Content

    Modified predefined artifacts are labeled as Predefined (Customized).You can revert any customized artifacts to their original, "predefined" values.

Condition

Displays a summary of the conditions rule attributes including:

  • Filters used in the rule
  • Attributes that must be equal for the rule to be satisfied
  • Time periods specified in the rules
Actions

Displays a summary of the actions rule attributes including:

  • Whether and how events selected by a filter are modified
  • Details of generated event (attributes and values)
Create a New Event

Displays a summary of the event (attributes and values) to be generated when the rule is executed.
