Load balancer

A server that performs load balancing. Load balancing divides the work load among several computer systems. As a result, overall OMi performance and availability increases. OMi requires a load balancer in distributed deployments that include at least two gateway servers.

OMi load balancer provides two access points:

  • The Data Collections Virtual IP is the virtual hostname for the data collectors to access the gateway server. It must be used when configuring data collectors for communication with OMi.

  • The Users Virtual IP is the virtual hostname for accessing the OMi console (web interface), which is located on the gateway server. It is the hostname used by OMi users.
