• Administration and Supportability

  • New and improved REST API capabilities

    • Added REST API calls for monitoring and operating integrations

      With the integration REST APIs, you can:

      • View integration points, including status, statistics, and details for each integration point. You can also view the list of integration jobs and status of each job.

      • View the CI statistics of the jobs in integration points

      • Run integration jobs
      • Perform a simple troubleshooting when there is an integration error

      Code examples for these REST API calls are also available for your easy reference. For details, see "Examples" (UCMDB Help > Develop > Developer Reference > Universal CMDB REST APIs Examples).

    • Added new interactive REST API Reference documentation with easy access

      The new REST API Reference option in the CMS UI > Help menu allows you to easily access the new interactive REST API Reference documentation.

      • The new REST API Reference documentation now contains information about all REST APIs available with UCMDB.

      • The Try it out button for each REST API call in the interactive REST API Reference documentation allows you to try executing the REST API code examples and to view returned responses.

• Performance Improvements

  • The UCMDB Browser module now supports many more concurrent users per server node
  • The Reports Dashboard is displayed much quicker after you log in
  • Reports are no longer limited to 30,000 results

• Improvements to the LDAP Manager module

  • Added the capability to search for an LDAP user by its user unique ID (UID).

  • Added two LDAP server settings to the configureLDAPServer JMX method. When the LDAP server has a size limit configured for the search results, the two new settings allow you to properly configure the LDAP sever so that all the LDAP entries can be successfully retrieved. For details, see "Number of users requested from the LDAP server" in the CMS UI Help.

    Note: In this release, the two new LDAP server settings work with the LDAP Manager module in CMS UI only.

• Integration job email notification

  Implemented the integration job email notification feature in CMS UI with a new setting Email Notification Enabled in the Integration Studio module. At the same time, removed the integration job email notification related settings from UCMDB UI. For details about how to enable the integration job email notification, see Working with integration jobs in the CMS UI Help.

• Improvements to the CMS UI landing page

  • Added the possibility to view the CIs displayed in a report widget grouped by CI Type, or by attribute, according to the type of grouping you have defined for the report.

  • Capability of deleting out-of-the-box (OOTB) widgets: You can use the Settings icon on the landing page to delete OOTB widgets.

• Improvements to the Topology Map

  • The Topology Map has a cleaner look by displaying a single connecting link for multiple relationships between the same two CIs.
  • Now you can view the Core Properties of a CI simply by Zooming In the Topology Map. Also, you can view only the CI Type of a CI by Zooming Out the Topology Map.

• Scheduled Reports Improvements

  You can now view information about your scheduled reports (such as the schedule owner, the current status, and the last and next execution times) by clicking the View Scheduled Reports icon in the Reports module. The scheduled reports view enables you to sort and filter scheduled reports, as well as perform the following actions:

  • Run scheduled reports immediately
  • Delete scheduled reports
  • Pause pending scheduled reports

• Improvements to the Assisted Modeling module

  • You can now enable and disable the Start Assisted Modeling link in the Service Modeling module for specific users. For more information, see "Enable the Start Assisted Modeling link in the UCMDB Browser module for specific users" in CMS UI help.

  • You can now group CIs in a model by CI Type

  • You can view in a model only CIs that are directly related to a selected CI

• Other general improvements to CMS UI

Administration and Supportability

• Improved the High Availability Notification System by implementing an API notification service

  This release implemented the API Notification Service for the High Availability feature to keep the notification listener alive within a UCMDB cluster. Now, when a UCMDB instance that has a listener registered to it goes down, the listener is passed to another instance inside the cluster, and the UCMDB client continues to receive notifications. This new notification service is available in the client SDK, and it is an optimization of the old notification process which was bound to the topology query service.

• Enhancements to the UCMDB Local Client

  The UCMDB Local Client tool is enhanced in this release with additional capabilities, including:

  • Support for basic authentication with WebSEAL
  • Support for the macOS platform
  • Support for RTSM
  • Support for Micro Focus ITOM suites (SMA, OpsB, and APM) that contain UCMDB version 10.20 or later. The new Target Environment field allows you to select the target environment that the target UCMDB/RTSM server belongs to.

• Added support for troubleshooting purging

  The PurgeHistoryTroubleshooting JMX method introduced in the UCMDB:service=History DB Services category allows you to view all UCMDB and DB history partitions and generate SQL statements for deleting the history partitions. • Integrating UCMDB with AutoPass License Server (APLS)

  This release introduced the capability for UCMDB server to integrate with APLS server. This integration enables UCMDB server to push license usage data to APLS server for easy centralized management and tracking of Universal Discovery license usage. For details, see Integrating UCMDB with AutoPass License Server (APLS) in the UCMDB Help.

• Enhancements to the Universal Discovery Licensing Model

  • UCMDB licensing capacity is now calculated as soon as you apply new licenses. Previously, license capacity was calculated only once a day by default, or by invoking the invokeLicenseCalculation JMX method.

  • Changed the licensing requirement of the Host Fingerprint by NMAP job from Advanced to Basic.

• Improvements to the CI discovery results with additional attributes

  Added the following three attributes in the Configuration Item Properties dialog box:

  • LastDiscoveredBy. The Universal Discovery job that last discovered the CI or relationship properties.
  • LastDiscoveredByProbe. The Data Flow Probe that last discovered the CI or relationship properties.
  • LastDiscoveredTime. The date and time when the CI or relationship properties were last discovered.

New and Extended Discovery

• Added the following new discovery:

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager Discovery (Beta): Discover data from Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) with an integration to OEM as a data source for the entire Oracle stack, including databases, application topology, and infrastructure topology.

    Note:This capability is available in the ITOM Marketplace Community Content for UD. If you are interested in this capability, you can download and try it out. If this capability receives positive feedback, it will be included in a future content pack.

  • SAP FRUN Discovery: Discover all the SAP systems (and their topology) for each customer network by accessing SAP Focused Run with CIM Protocol

• Enhanced the Amazon Web Services Discovery as follows:

  • Created a relationship between AWS Account and Region
  • Created the following new views for AWS discovery: Amazon EC2 Topology, Amazon ECS Topology, Amazon S3 Topology, Amazon VPC Topology, Amazon ECR Topology, Amazon EC2 Topology by AMI, and Amazon EC2 Topology by Volume
  • Simplified Amazon Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) topology
  • AWS Resource CI and its child CIs are identified by key attributes as Amazon Resource Name CIs only
  • The Name attribute of Amazon EBS and Amazon ECS Resource CIs that was hidden becomes visible now
• Enhanced the Inventory Discovery by Scanner, Inventory Discovery by Manual Scanner Deployment, Host Connection by PowerShell, Host Connection by Shell, and Host Connection by WMI jobs to discover BIOS date and version on all platforms
• Enhanced the VMware vROps Topology by WebServices job to discover the OS type, IP address, and host resource information

Added support for discovering the following application version to the existing discovery jobs:

Universal Discovery Inventory

Enhanced the Inventory Discovery by Scanner and Inventory Discovery by Manual Scanner Deployment jobs by adding:

• A new attribute LPar SMT to the IBM LPar Profile CIT for reporting the simultaneous multithreading (SMT) information of LPAR CPU

• A new OS User Last Logon attribute to the OS User CIT for reporting the current OS user last logon time

Integrations

• Added the Microsoft Intelligent Asset Manager Universal Inventory (IAMUI) Integration.

  The direct integration between Microsoft IAMUI and UCMDB, that is, the UCMDB push integration with IAMUI, allows UD to push discovered software inventory data into IAMUI.

• Enhanced SM-UCMDB integration by adding capability to populate deleted CI relationships to UCMDB

  When you delete CI relationships in Micro Focus Service Manager, the CI relationships are now removed from UCMDB after you run a population job. This capability requires additional configuration of Service Manager and of the Service Manager Enhanced Adapter in UCMDB. For details, see "Enable the Automatic Deletion of CI Relationships from UCMDB" in the ServiceManagerEnhancedAdapter9.41 User Guide included in the Content Pack help (Integrate > Micro Focus Integrations > Micro Focus Service Manager Integration).

• Enhanced the NNMi integration by:

  • Adding a new adapter Pull Topology from NNMi by REST API Adapter. When NNMi is used to discover switches and Layer2 network topology, and UD discovers servers, this new adapter can create Layer2 connectivity information between the switches and the servers discovered.

  • Adding a new parameter NNMiHost to the NNMI Update IDs adapter. NNMiHost is the host name to be used with the NNMi integration. NNMiHost has higher priority over IP address, which means instead of IP address, NNMiHost will be used if it is provided.

• Enhanced the CSV mapping file to support a new converter stringToList for the Import from CSV File integration job

Others

• Enhancements to the SNMP Protocol version 3

  • Added non-standard encryption algorithm support for AES-192 and AES-256 (now both standard and non-standard are supported). For example, non-standard AES-256 is used by Cisco switches.
  • Added authentication algorithm support for SHA224, SHA256, SHA384, and SHA512
• Added a new parameter unsetHistFile to the globalSettings.xml file. This parameter indicates whether to prevent the SSH protocol from recording the executed command to the environment variable $HISTFILE on UNIX server. The default value is false.
• Added a new parameter reportPoweredOffZones to the Solaris Zones by TTY job to determine whether to report zones that are not running. The default value is true.
• Added a new parameter reportPoweredOffLdomServers to the Oracle VM Server for SPARC Technology by Shell job to determine whether to report LDOM servers that are not running. The default value is true.

• Added a new parameter filterInstalledSoftwareByName to the Host Resources/Applications by Shell job. This parameter specifies the Installed Software names that are not reported. It is a blacklist mechanism in order to avoid the reporting of unwanted Installed Software.

• Added a new parameter ignoreHostsWithoutHostNames to the VMware ESX Topology by VIM and VMware vCenter Topology by VIM jobs. This parameter indicates whether to ignore hosts without host names. The default value is false.
