Description

The SMAX integration with OMi is bidirectional. It enables you to forward events from OMi to Service Management Automation X (SMAX) to create and update incidents, and synchronize incident changes back from SMAX to OMi events.

Communication from OMi to SMAX is performed through direct REST calls using the SMAX Case Exchange REST API. SMAX uses the Case Exchange framework to create and update incidents in Service Management based on events in OMi. This framework enables you to define an external system with which information will be exchanged. For example, you can use the integration to configure CI Status alerts in OMi to automatically open an incident in Service Management. The OMi event management console determines what events should generate incidents and be added to an ITSM process to resolve the incident and alert agents and end users. To synchronize events and event changes in OMi with SMAX incidents, the SMAX instance must be configured as a "connected server" within OMi. An event forwarding rule determines what events are forwarded automatically to SMAX.

Communication from SMAX to OMi is performed using REST through the On-Premise Bridge as the OMi credentials are stored in the On-Premise Bridge.
