Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.

Enable the enhanced query hash algorithm
Applies to User Roles:

Starting with version 9.41, Service Manager provides an enhanced query hash algorithm, which ensures a higher level of system security when the Service Manager web client or Service Request Catalog (SRC) is handling URLs. By default, this functionality is disabled for backward compatibility.
To enable the enhanced query hash algorithm, follow these steps:
- Click System Administration > Base System Configuration > Miscellaneous > System Information Record.
- Click the General tab.

Configure the enhanced query hash functionality as described in the following table.
Option Default value Description Enable Enhanced Query Hash false When this option is set to true (selected), the Service Manager server generates query hashes based on the enhanced query hash algorithm. For security considerations, we recommend you to enable this option.
By default, this option is disabled so that your system can continue to use the legacy algorithm and work as before.
Allow Legacy Query Hash true This option is available only when the Enable Enhanced Query Hash option is enabled.
By default, this option is enabled so that the Service Manager web client or SRC can accept URLs with query hashes that are generated based on either the legacy or the enhanced algorithm.
If you deselect this option, the client displays an error message when processing URLs with a legacy query hash, indicating the hash code is invalid.
Note Use this option only during your transition from the legacy algorithm to the enhanced algorithm. Once no URLs with legacy query hashes exist in your system, we recommend you to disable this option.
- Click Save.
