Description
This integration is an extension to integration record 250 that includes integrations with OM products. This function of PI identifies the nodes (network devices or systems) in your network, and then obtains data from those nodes by polling them directly or by importing their flat file extractions. A flat file is a self-contained set of historical information for nodes produced by network device utilities on a periodic basis. In either case, the system stores the collected data in a PI database. PI determines the type of data to collect, where to collect it from, and when to collect it.
For HTTPS communication, the agents must support CODA version 10; otherwise, HTTP or DCE method will be used. Because HTTPS communication is certificate-based, certificates must be installed on the PI system (including remote pollers) that collects data from agents. PI will utilize the client certificates already installed for the agents. The PI system acts as a certificate client and the certificate server (certificate authority) is provided by the HP management server.
