Description

This integration enables the Micro Focus Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Demand Module to call the Select CI user interface that is available with Micro Focus Universal CMDB (UCMDB). This UI allows the users to select the CIs that the PPM Request for Change (RFC) request type is affecting.  Once the user has selected the CIs, there is a preliminary impact analysis report generated by UCMDB that may be attached to the request in PPM.

This integration replaces version 1.0 of the integration (ID#20).

In order to bring about a change in an application, customer creates an RFC within a portfolio management tool like Project and Portfolio Management Demand Module. Once all of the relevant information about the change is completed in PPM, including application information, description of change, effect of change and reason for change, this change is submitted for action.

Once the change is accepted by the development group, the development manager goes into the RFC, and then assigns and selects the associated CIs that may be directly affected by this change.

Once the CI's are selected, the manager would want to review a preliminary impact analysis of this change on other CIs in order to plan the development, as well as to create the right test cases. This impact analysis is provided by UCMDB to the development manager who was using PPM. Later, during deployment, this impact analysis can be further used to plan the deployment of the change.
