Description

For service portfolio functionality, services can be associated with the Service field in PPM Center requests, and then labor costs can be tracked for each service. The list of services can be retrieved from HPE Universal CMDB in real time--that is, each time a PPM Center user needs the list, he specifies it from the Servicefield. The service list does not reside in PPM Center. After configuring the integration with HPE Universal CMDB, the service list can be retrieved from HPE Universal CMDB.

 

The primary goal of the Service Concept is to have a place in PPM that will allow users to identify the service that work is being performed against. User can specify a service attribute in a request. The service attribute is from a service list, which can be configured to be discovered from the HPE UCMDB application in real time. From the perspective of PPM, we just need to retrieve a CI list of a certain CI type from UCMDB through a web service interface (SOAP) provided by UCMDB.
