Description

This is the integration between Micro Focus Systinet and Micro Focus Universal CMDB (UCMDB) that allows an architect to reuse and link UCMDB's technology layer entities, in order to provide full traceability from business to technology layer entities.

UCMDB is a primary source of information about runtime systems. Micro Focus Systinet can import and synchronize relevant data from UCMDB configuration items (CIs). This gives the architect up-todate data about the baseline architecture at the Technology layer and brings visibility on the as-is state. The enterprise architect can reuse the imported UCMDB CIs and link them to the application architecture to provide traceability between the application and technology layer.

CIs in UCMDB representing physical application model are aligned with logical application architecture in Systinet repository. Automatic alignment is configurable, i.e. declare a mapping file to import CIs, for example, business services, web services, organizations, servers, and system software from uCMDB to HP EM. After importing CIs from UCMDB successfully, user can view them in HP Systinet user interface. Alignment is measurable and provided as KPIs. Alignment is also supported manual way for wrongly aligned entities. Disconnected entities are presented as list and can create appropriate logical artifact. Those entities can be marked as ignored or rogue.

For example, after importing and synchronization of UCMDB data, system softwares are grouped by name and version. User will see systemSoftwareArtifact instances which define types of software that is used in the company, and the imported UCMDB data are grouped by associated configuration item name and version. There are no duplicate entities created with the same name and version.
