Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.

Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |

Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

What's new in Codar 1.80
Codar 1.80 has the following new features:
- Dashboard Widgets
- Server Configuration and Pool Creation
- Script Actions
- Generation of Designs
- MS TFS Integration
- Workflows
Dashboard Widgets
Codar dashboard displays notifications, analytics, and recent updates. These widgets give you a quick snapshot of the current activities in Codar. The Approval widget displays the approval requests pending for the logged in user. The package widget provides a list of packages created across the applications.
Server Configuration and Pool Creation
You can create and allocate servers pools to lifecycle stages/environments that will be used by Codar for scale out.
A typical design may consist of VCenter or Amazon servers. When these designs are used for application deployment, Codar creates these servers. In some cases, the servers might have been created through an external system. Those servers are classified as Existing Servers. These servers can also be used in Release Automation by using Existing Server feature in Codar.
Codar does not discover servers in a user environment. Lifecycle management of the externally created servers is not done by Codar. Codar uses the information provided.
Script Actions
Bring in your own shell scripts and plug them in as release pipeline actions. Using script actions, you will be able to run the scripts on the target machine as part of release gate action.
Create a script release gate action
Generation of Designs

MS TFS Integration
Build a template with utility to trigger Codar application deployment remotely from TFS build jobs.
In-Product Content Store
Browse all intelligent content such as OO content packs from Codar, no need to visit the HPLN site.
