A single word	`cat`	Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats".
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase.	`"cat food"` (quotation marks)	Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase.

Install > Add node and deploy discovery aspect

Add node and deploy discovery aspect

After installing OMi MP for Infrastructure 2.0, you must add nodes to monitor in OMi. Deploy Discovery Aspect based on system environment.

Note Make sure the node with Operations Agent is connected to the OMi server and certificate is granted.

To begin monitoring the discovered environment, you must deploy Management Template or Aspect. For more information about deploying, see the section Administer.

Overview of Tasks

Following is a flowchart which provides an overview of the tasks involved in monitoring the Infrastructure Aspects.

Task 1: Adding the Nodes

Note: If the Infrastructure that you want to monitor is already being monitored by Smart Plug-in (SPI) for System Infrastructure, then remove the SPI artifacts and data sources from the managed node hosting the System Infrastructure before proceeding.

Note: The node with Operations Agent needs to be activated to OMi server and certificate needs to be granted.

	Open the Monitored Nodes pane.
	Select the required OS type.
	Add the host and provide the details.

Identifying the Type of Discovery Aspect

The OMi MP for Infrastructure has three Discovery Aspects and they are: System Infrastructure Discovery, Virtual Infrastructure Discovery, and Cluster Infrastructure Discovery. Depending on the type of node, you can deploy one or a combination of these Aspects.

Type of Node	Aspects to be Deployed
Standalone Node (Linux and Windows)	Deploy the System Infrastructure Discovery Aspect.
Cluster Node	Deploy the System Infrastructure Discovery Aspect first and then deploy the Cluster Infrastructure Discovery Aspect.
Hypervisor host, guest, and resource pool	Deploy the Virtual Infrastructure Discovery Aspect.

Task 2: Deploying the Discovery Aspect

To discover the CIs on the added managed nodes, deploy the Infrastructure Discovery Aspect.

	Open the Management Templates & Aspects pane.
	Open the Configuration Folders pane and select the Infrastructure Discovery Aspect.
	Select the Windows or UNIX node to deploy.
	Start the discovery.

Task 3: Verifying the Discovery

After you deploy the Infrastructure Discovery Aspect, you must verify if the CIs are populated.

Open the Event Perspective pane.

View the discovered Infrastructure instances.
