Description

To facilitate testing of business processes that contain or utilize services that are not available, HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT) integrates with HP Service Virtualization. UFT uses a virtual service instead of the actual one. HP Service Virtualization monitors enable you to analyze the status and performance of the simulated services during the test run.

When you run a test in UFT, you can configure the application you are testing to use one or more virtualized services. For example, your business process might include a service that is in development or incurs a cost, such as processing a credit card through a third-party vendor. By using a virtual service, you can replace actual services with simulated services that mirror both the data model and the performance model.

In HP Service Virtualization, you create the virtualized service. You then add this service to a UFT API test, or, if you are running a GUI test, you configure the the application you are testing to use the virtualized service.

Note: Integration of Service Virtualiztion and UFT GUI tests is available starting from UFT 12.00.
