How to perform an integration with Operations Orchestration

To import Operations Orchestration content and execute the flows, follow these steps:

  1. If the Operations Orchestration flow you are importing uses encryption, you must set up encryption between Service Management and the On-Premise Bridge agent before you perform the integration. For more information, see How to set up encryption for an Operations Orchestration integration.
  2. Add an Operations Orchestration endpoint.

    1. From the main menu, select Administration > Utilities > Integration Management. Click the Endpoints tab.

    2. Click Add and enter the endpoint details. For the endpoint type, select Operations Orchestration.

    3. Click Add.

  3. Configure the endpoint.

For more information, see Configure an endpoint. When the endpoint is configured, an automatic synchronization occurs, importing the Operations Orchestration content.

    Note

    • If a change was made to the flow in Operations Orchestration after the endpoint was configured, you must perform the synchronization again manually. Click Sync now on the Endpoints tab.
    • If you are working with a security hardened Operations Orchestration (OO) server, follow the procedure described in How to configure an agent with a security hardened Operations Orchestration server before proceeding with the integration.
  4. Select the required record in the relevant manager. Select the Task plan/Plan and Execute tab.

  5. Hover over the Start button and click the Edit button. Select Automated task from the pop-up menu.

  6. In the New automatic task dialog box, under Business rule, click Set rule.

  7. In the Set rule dialog box, select Execute Operations Orchestration (OO) flow and click OK.

  8. Click the OO endpoint parameter in the business rule to select the endpoint. Select the endpoint you defined at the beginning of the procedure and click OK.

  9. Click the flow name parameter in the business rule to select the Operations Orchestration flow to execute. Enter a string in the Search window to search for a flow. Select the required flow and click OK.

  10. Click the flow parameters parameter in the business rule to configure the input parameters of the Operations Orchestration flow. For each parameter, enter a value in Simple mode or enter an Expression language phrase.

Click the Expression Language button to toggle between these options. When the button is selected (green), the field is in Expression Language mode. When it is not selected (white), the field is in Simple mode. For a full list of Expression Language functions, see Expression Language functions and syntax.

Parameters marked with an asterisk are required fields. For information on the Operations Orchestration input parameters, refer to Author Using OO Studio.

Note For encrypted parameters, you cannot enter an Expression Language phrase.

When you are done, click OK.

  11. Click the Record fields parameter to map the Operations Orchestration flow output to record fields. For each Operations Orchestration output field, you must select either a record field or predefined user option, as follows:

    • To map an Operations Orchestration output field to a record field, click Add field to add a row. In the left column, select a field from the drop-down list. In the right column, enter the name of the relevant Operations Orchestration output field.

    • To map an Operations Orchestration output field to a record user option, click Add user option to add a row. In the left column, enter the name of a predefined user option for this record. In the right column, enter the name of the relevant Operations Orchestration output field.

When you are done, click OK.

  12. After the task runs, you can click the task to open a summary dialog displaying details of the task. The Business rules tab displays the business rule with the selected parameters, the Task start time and end time, and the Task ID. You can click the Task ID to go directly to the flow execution page for the selected flow in Operations Orchestration.
