Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

How to delegate approvals
You can configure Service Management to have your approvals delegated to another user.
-
In the Service Portal, click the portal menu at the top right of the page.
-
Click Delegations. The Approval Delegation form is displayed.
-
Complete the form:
Field Description Employee From the drop-down list, select the name of the employee to whom you wish to delegate your approvals. Start Select the date when the approval delegation is to start. If you chose the current date, or a date earlier than the current date, saving the approval delegation makes it immediately effective. End Select the date when the approval delegation is to end. This must be later than the current date and the date selected for the start
You do not have to select a value for End. If you leave this field blank, delegations are continuous.
-
Click Save.
Note
-
You can also view the delegation form by clicking Approval delegation settings in the User profile part of the Service Portal.
-
You can edit the approval delegation by going to the delegation form, entering a new value for a field, and clicking Save.
-
You can have only one approval delegation. If you have an existing approval delegation, and want to create another, you must first delete the existing delegation. You can delete an approval delegation by going to the delegation, and clicking REMOVE. A blank Approval Delegation form is displayed.
