Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Automated Service Modeling (ASM) Support for Service Manager 9.41
ASM support is available for Service Manager 9.41 only. Each Service Manager 9.41 adapter in CP 17 provides an ASM TQL query, which enables the UCMDB-SM integration to push ASM discovered consumer-provider relationships from UCMDB to Service Manager. Be aware that only consumer-provider relationships that directly point from a Business Element CI to a Running Software CI can be pushed; the adapters currently do not support ASM discovered consumer-provider relationships between a Business Element CI and a Cluster CI.
Additionally, you can tailor Service Manager 9.41 so that Service Manager users can launch the Service Modeling module and the Risk Simulation widget of the UCMDB Browser, in the context of a Business Service and an affected CI, respectively. Such tailoring enables Service Manager users to view the UCMDB Browser discovered tree structure of a business service and the risk analysis results for different severity levels of a CI. This can facilitate service modeling and risk analysis in Service Manager.
For more information about the integration with Service Manager, see the Universal CMDB integration guides for Service Manager 9.41. You can download the guides from the following HP Software Support Online (SSO) page: Service Manager 9.3x and 9.4x Document Matrix
For more information about ASM, see ASM Documents.
