Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Automated Service Modeling - Starting with this release, ASM license is not needed to leverage the ASM model (UD license is needed for any discovered OSI within ASM)
The Automated Service Modeling (ASM) license model is enhanced. Starting with this release, ASM license is not needed to leverage the ASM model (UD license is needed for any discovered OSI within ASM). It means that you can create any numbers of ASM models via the UCMDB Administration UI and the UCMDB Browser UI.
Support for LDAP dynamic groups
Support for LDAP dynamic groups is now available with the introduction of two new JMX methods. You can configure LDAP dynamic groups using JMX method configureLdapDynamicGroups and enable the use of dynamic groups by invoking useDynamicGroups. For more details, see How to Enable and Define LDAP Authentication Method in the JMX Reference section of the UCMDB Help or Hardening section of the UCMDB Help.
Enhancement to the hybrid user management feature
Instead of choosing a repository from the drop-down list, now the User Login field on the UCMDB UI login screen enables a user to specify the repository using the following mechanisms:
- Email: user@repository (example: user1@mydomain.com)
- Windows domain user: repository\user (example: mydomain.com\user2)
For more details, see Hybrid User Management with Multiple User Repositories in the Hardening section of the UCMDB Help.
Support for CAC and LW-SSO for hybrid user management
The hybrid user management feature now supports CAC and LW-SSO. The new infrastructure setting Enable LDAP Authentication in non interactive flows allows you to control whether you want to display the LDAP repository selection in UCMDB UI login screen. For more details, see Hybrid User Management with Multiple User Repositories in the Hardening section of the UCMDB Help.
Generate Customizable Change Report
Starting with version 10.32, the implementation of SDK API and REST API enables you to generate customizable change report only for specific attributes, or to exclude specific attributes. For details, see Generate Customizable Change Report in the Developer Reference section of the UCMDB Help.
Other Improvements
-
UCMDB Server will start faster. The data-acquisition module is such optimized that it requires less than 10% time compared to the previous versions.
-
Added support for connecting UCMDB Server to an Oracle database using Service Name. The support can be enabled by configuring the new database context configuration dal.datamodel.service.name in the cmdb.conf file or providing a value for the new Service Name field in the UCMDB Server Configuration Wizard. For details, see Connecting to an Oracle Database Using Service Name in the Database section of UCMDB Help.

Removed support for the UCMDB Browser embedded in Configuration Manager
Note
- UCMDB Browser 4.13 is not bundled with CMS 10.32. You can download UCMDB Browser 4.13 and its documentation from ITOM Marketplace.
-
(Embedded UCMDB Browser only) UCMDB 10.32 requires version 4.13 of the embedded UCMDB Browser. It does not support embedded UCMDB Browser version 4.12 (or earlier). If you are using UCMDB Browser version 4.12 (or earlier), make sure you move the UCMDB Browser embedded to UCMDB Browser Standalone.
-
CMS-LDAP Manager module
The new CMS-LDAP Manager module is now available in the Administration Console for UCMDB Browser. It enables you to associate Universal CMDB groups with LDAP groups or LDAP users, and to view the existing mappings. Also, you can configure a new LDAP server or you can modify the configuration of an existing LDAP server using the CMS-LDAP Manager module.
For more details about the CMS-LDAP Manager module, see the Universal CMDB LDAP Manager Help.
-
Probe Dashboard available in the Administration Console for UCMDB Browser
The new Probe Dashboard available in the Administration Console for UCMDB Browser replaces the original Discovery module. It retrieves and displays real-time information about data flow probes and workflow/discovery jobs in a centralized view, allowing you to easily view all probes and jobs, and also drill down to probe and job details from the UCMDB Browser, without having to log into the UCMDB server.
The snapshot of probes is automatically updated every 30 seconds, and the snapshot of jobs is automatically updated every 5 minutes.
For more details about the Probe Dashboard, see Accessing the Administration Console for the UCMDB Browser module in the Use section of the CMS UI Help.
-
Other Improvements
-
Environment Widget Improvements
The Environment widget now has an improved topology map, focusing on simplicity and usability.
-
As a user, you can export the topology map in the SVG format
Starting with UCMDB Browser 4.13, a new option Export to SVG is added to the Map Toolbar, which allows you to export the topology map in the SVG format.
-
UCMDB Server Version update
Starting with UCMDB Browser 4.13, the minimal UCMDB server version required is UCMDB 10.10. For details on supported versions, refer to the Support Matrix section of the CMS UI Help.
-
For more details, see the UCMDB Browser 4.13 documentation.
Universal Discovery (UD) software provides visibility into IT environments by automatically discovering and mapping IT applications and infrastructure elements.
Important The committed support for DDMI ended on December 31, 2016. Therefore, 10.31 is the last version of UCMDB to support the DDMI migration. Starting with version 10.32, the DDMI migration functionality will no longer be available.
Database performance improvement
When you have more probes in your environment, the Oracle or SQL database server performance during discovery can be improved with the introduction of a new configurable infrastructure setting Set Max Objects For Insert Results. This setting allows you to set the maximum number of merge queries in a transaction for the CCM_DISCOVERY_DESTS_RESULTS table (default value: 50). It takes effect immediately and does not require server restart. For more details, see How to Set Maximum Objects for Insert Results in the Data Flow Management section of the UCMDB Help.
Note Content Pack 23.00 is not bundled with CMS 10.32. You can download Content Pack 23.00 from the ITOM Marketplace. Content Pack 23.00 can be installed on:
- UCMDB 10.22 CUP4 (or with a later CUP on top of 10.22)
- UCMDB 10.30
- UCMDB 10.31
- UCMDB 10.32
Important Starting with Content Pack 23.00, Content Pack is no longer compatible with UCMDB 10.11 (with or without a CUP on top of it).
Micro Focus releases frequent Content Packs that extend the breadth and depth of discovery and integration content, and enhancements to existing content. Content Pack 23.00 delivers a wide range of content in the areas of support matrix, new discoveries, new and enhanced jobs, and integrations.
