Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.

Navigation Menu
You can access various administrative tools for the web-based UCMDB UI from within UCMDB Home.
To access the Navigation menu, click the UCMDB Modules icon () in the upper left corner.
Important Only the modules for which you have the required permissions will be visible in the Navigation menu.
The following table describes the main modules available in UCMDB Home.

UCMDB Home |
Opens the UCMDB Home landing page, which allows you to add different types of widgets to the landing page, and also to navigate through the available web-based UCMDB modules and access them directly from the left side navigation menu. For more information, see UCMDB Home Landing Page. |
Configuration Item Search |
Opens the Search page of the UCMDB Browser. For detailed information about CI Search, see Configuration Item Search. Note When you click CI Search after at least one search for a CI was performed, the results of your most recent search are displayed. You also have the possibility to use the Advanced Search functionality. |
Service Management |
Opens the Service Management Automation application. For more information, see the Service Management Automation documentation. Note This module is available only for the Service Management Automation suite. |
CMDB Admin |
Opens the Universal CMDB application. Note This module is available only for the Service Management Automation suite. |
Integration Studio |
Opens the Integration Studio module, which enables you to manage your UCMDB integration points and connect and share information with external repositories, such as other UCMDB, IT Performance Suite products, or third-party products. Integration with other products is performed over secure communication channels through Data Flow Probes. Alternatively, if your remotely-managed data repositories are accessible from UCMDB server machine, non-Jython-based integrations can be performed using UCMDB Integration Service, enabling the Data Flow Probe resources to be used for other discovery tasks. LDAP Manager |
Opens the LDAP Manager module, which enables you to associate Universal CMDB groups with LDAP groups. For detailed information about the LDAP Manager module, see LDAP Manager. |
Package Manager |
Opens the Package Manager dashboard, which enables you to easily manage the capabilities of your system based on the packages you deploy. For detailed information about Package Manager, see Package Manager. |
Probe Dashboard |
Opens the Probe Dashboard module. It retrieves and displays real-time information about data flow probes and workflow/discovery jobs in a centralized view, allowing you to easily view all probes and jobs, and also drill down to probe and job details from the UCMDB Browser, without having to logging into the UCMDB server. Reports | Opens the existing Reports module from the legacy UCMDB Browser. For detailed information about the Reports module, see Reports. |
Resource Manager | Opens the Resource Manager module, which is designed to allow users to quickly search and consume various UCMDB resources in one central place. You can search for a specific UCMDB resource that is supported to be consumed in the web-based modules accessible in UCMDB Home. For detailed information about the Resource Manager module, see Resource Manager. |
Service Modeling |
Opens the existing Service Modeling module from the legacy UCMDB Browser. For detailed information about the Service Modeling module, see Service Modeling. Note The Service Modeling module is available for users with the Service Modeling permission. |
Smart Software Analytics | Opens the Smart Software Analytics module, which relies on data analytics to analyze large amount of scan files and suggest new software signatures, that can be used to recognize installed software. It automatically teaches unrecognized software by intelligently using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning technology. Smart Software Analytics provides you with an enhanced software recognition ratio that requires less manual effort. UCMDB Browser |
Opens the legacy mode of the UCMDB Browser. For detailed information about UCMDB Browser, see UCMDB Browser. |
