UCMDB Home Landing Page

You can remove any content from the UCMDB Home landing page, rearrange or resize the existing widgets, or add new widgets. Also, you can navigate through the available web-based UCMDB modules and access them directly from the left side navigation menu.

To access the UCMDB Home landing page, use one of the following methods:

  • Access UCMDB Browser. Once you are logged in, you are on the UCMDB Home landing page.
  • In the web browser, type https://<server_name or IP>:<port>/ucmdb-browser/ui in the Address bar and then press Enter. Provide user name and password if required.
  • Access UCMDB Browser legacy mode, using the following URL: https://<server_name or IP>:<port>/ucmdb-browser/ucmdb_browser.jsp . On the Search page, click Access the UCMDB Home under the search box.

Important UCMDB Home requires UCMDB Browser 11.0 or later, and UCMDB server 11.0 or later.

The following table describes the user interface elements on the UCMDB Home landing page.

UI Element (A-Z) Description
UCMDB Modules. Opens the Navigation menu, and allows you to navigate through the available web-based UCMDB modules. For detailed information about the available modules, see Navigation Menu.

Search. Allows you to search within the following categories:

  • Configuration Item. Allows you to search for a CI. The search results are opened directly in the UCMDB Browser.
  • Queries and Models. Allows you to search for queries and models. The search results are opened directly in the Resource Manager module.
  • Views and Reports. Allows you to search for views and reports. The search results are opened in the Resource Manager module or in the Topology Map.

<username>

<username>. Displays the user that is currently logged in to UCMDB Home. Clicking it allows you to log out from UCMDB Home.

Help. Opens the Help menu:

  • Help. Opens the UCMDB Home Help page.
  • Online Help for UCMDB Browser. Opens the online help for the current UCMDB Browser version available on the Micro Focus Software Information Portal.
  • Online Help for UCMDB Server. Opens the online help for the current UCMDB Server version available on the Micro Focus Software Information Portal.
  • Online Help for Content Pack. Opens the online help for the current Content Pack version available on the Micro Focus Software Information Portal.

  • About. Opens the About dialog box.

    The ABOUT tab provides version, patch (if available), copyright, and third-party notice information.

    The LICENSE tab provides license information, including license status, license summary, and a license status link. Clicking the license status link opens the license summary report, which contains license consumption summary and available licenses, and a link that allows you to export a detailed license consumption report.     Clicking OK exits the About window.

Walk-throughs. Opens a list of predefined workflow scenarios. Click one of the available workflows to open a set of step-by-step-instructions. This allows you to complete an end-to-end workflow by yourself.

Add New Widget. Enables you to add different types of widgets to the UCMDB Home landing page. Opens the Add a New Widget layer.

UI Element (A-Z) Description
Delete <tile name>. Removes the widget from the UI Home page.
Map mode. Opens the topology map for a view associated with a widget.
Re-size widget. Changes the size of the widget. To do this, click the icon and then drag the mouse.
