How to edit, remove, or disable a business rule

The following task describes how to edit, remove, or disable an existing business rule in Studio:

Note If you have development and production tenants, all configuration changes must be made on the development tenant. For more information about synchronizing the tenants, see Dev2Prod - How to synchronize your development and production tenants.

  1. In the main menu, select Administration > ConfigurationStudio.

  2. Select the record type from the drop-down box at the top of the screen.
  3. In the Processes and Rules tab, select an existing business rule for the record type or for a process, metaphase, phase, or transition.

    • To edit the rule, click the parameters and enter or select the required parameter value in the appropriate edit box. To add or remove a condition, click Edit and select Add/Remove condition.

    • To add or edit a description of the rule, click Edit and select Add/Edit description. Enter your description in the text box.
    • To delete the rule, click Edit and select Remove rule.

    • To disable the rule, click Edit and select Disable rule. The rule remains in the process event, but is not implemented.

    • To re-enable the rule, select Edit and select Enable rule.

  4. Click Save to save your changes.

Note When working in Comparison mode, you can edit business rules in the Current workflow only. You cannot edit rules in the out-of-the-box workflow.
