Fixed asset workflow

This section describes the metaphases and subordinate phases in the life cycle of a fixed asset.

The fixed asset workflow relies on business rules. Rules repeat from one phase to another when the end user can make a change to a field affected by a business rule during that phase.

Metaphase: Draft

The fixed asset is in draft phases, prior to reconciliation.

Phase Transition Description
Not reconciled Manual

The starting point for fixed asset, when the contract is drawn up. The result of the phase is the successful creation of a contract.

When the fixed asset is reconciled, or partially reconciled, the Financial Manager can manually transition the fixed asset to the relevant active phase.

Next phase: Partially reconciled or Reconciled

Metaphase: Active

The fixed asset is effective and in execution stages.

Phase Transition Description
Partially reconciled Manual

The fixed asset is still being reconciled.

When it is reconciled, the Financial Manager manually transitions the fixed asset to the Reconciled phase.

Next phase: Reconciled

Reconciled Manual

The fixed asset is reconciled.

When the fixed asset has reached end of life, the Financial Manager manually writes the fixed asset off.

Next phase: Write-off

Metaphase: Ended (End)

The fixed asset's life cycle has ended.

Phase Transition Description
