Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Upgrading from a Previous Version
If OpsCx for IBM Tivoli is already installed on your system, you can directly upgrade from OpsCx for IBM Tivoli 2.00 to 3.01.
Limitations
- Upgrade is supported only from Operations Connector 2.00 or higher version. Upgrading from OpsCx for IBM Tivoli 1.x is not supported.
- The configuration is automatically upgraded only if the configuration files are located in their default location. If you installed the integration to a non-default path, you must manually update it after the upgrade.
-
After the upgrade, the event and topology services are automatically started and the old policies are active. The new metric service is not running. If you do not want to run all services, stop the unnecessary one and deactivate the corresponding policy. For details on how to stop the services, see Managing the Integration Services topic.
Considerations
-
During the upgrade, the fields
discovery-field-ip
anddiscovery-field-hostname
from the existing event configuration are converted todiscovery-field-ip-netcool
indiscovery-field-hostname-netcool
and the values are retained. This means that if you kept the default values in the previous version, these old default values are retained after the upgrade and you need to manually change them to the new default values. See Event Integration Options topic for the new default values.
If you modified these fields with your own values, the modified values are retained.
Upgrade Procedure
-
Follow the installation procedure as described in Installing OpsCx for IBM Tivoli topic. The installation program will detect the older version and automatically upgrade your existing OpsCx for IBM Tivoli.
-
After the upgrade is finished, check if your existing configuration was correctly upgraded and correct any settings if needed. If the upgrade performs correctly, the old policies remain active.
To use the new polices, deactivate the old policies and activate the new polices.
- Import the content package to OMi to use the High Availability (HA) feature. For details on how to import the content package, see Importing the Content Package to OMi topic.
