Install OpsCx for VROPS

The following section provides information about installing OpsCx for VROPS version 1.0.

Downloading and Installing OpsCx for VROPS

To download and install OpsCx for VROPS, perform the following steps:

  1. From the web site Marketplace, download the OpsCx for VROPS product installation package (product image archive) for the target operating system.

  2. Store the product image archive at a temporary location on the Operations Connector host.

  3. Check if there are installations of Operations Connector components for other systems management applications on the Operations Connector host. If such components are present, stop their data collection services by running the following command:

    ovc -stop <collection service>

    OpsCx for VROPS may include a newer version of GenInt from the already installed Operations Connector components. In this case, the installed GenInt is upgraded. GenInt is backward compatible.

  4. Considering the operating system on the Operations Connector host, install OpsCx for VROPS on the Operations Connector host as follows:

    • For Windows:

      1. Launch Windows Explorer and locally unzip the product image archive
        ProductImage-HPBsmIntVROps-<Version>-Win5.2_64-release.zip.

      2. To start the installer program, change the current directory to
        ProductImage-HPBsmIntVROps-<Version>-Win5.2_64-release and double-click the following file:

        HPBsmIntVROps_<Version>_setup.exe

      3. To start the installation, follow the instructions displayed by the installer program. If all prerequisite checks pass, click Install.

      4. To close the installer program, click Done after the installation completes.

    • For Linux:

      1. Open command shell and locally untar the product image archive ProductImage-HPBsmIntVROps-<Version>-Linux2.6_64-release.tar.

      2. Run the following command:

        HPBsmIntVROps_<Version>_setup.bin

      3. Follow the instructions displayed in the installer program. If all prerequisite checks pass, click Install to start the installation.

        If the installation is run from a remote client without X Window System support, it starts in the command-shell mode instead of the graphical mode. In this case, enter your choices using your keyboard.

      4. To close the installer program, click Done after the installation completes.

  5. If there are Operations Connector components for other third‑party system management applications already installed on the Operations Connector host, start the data collection services of these components again by keying in the following command:

    ovc -start <collection service>
