Cause codes and probable cause

The Cause Code field is an optional field that enables you to define the probable cause of an incident. If you use a standard series of cause codes, you can easily track Incident records that have a common cause. Probable cause records defined by the Service Manager Administrator generate cause codes to simplify the reporting and tracking of Incident records. The cause code links the probable cause record to the Incident record and enables you to categorize and assign Incident records.
