Define an Automation Policy

Note This module is only valid for use by customers who purchased the relevant license for Universal CMDB Configuration Manager versions 9.2 or 9.3. New customers cannot purchase this license.

It is recommended to use the UCMDB Browser Automation widget (also available in the embedded UCMDB Browser in Configuration Manager) to configure automated flows that are based on Configuration management conditions. For details, see the section about the Automation widget in the UCMDB Browser online help.

This task describes how to define a new automation policy.

  1. Click Add New Policy in the Administration > Automation Policies toolbar.

  2. In the General area, enter the following:

    • The policy name

    • The policy description

    • The frequency of policy validation

  3. In the Scope area, select the views to which the new automation policy applies. You can either select a specific view or apply the policy to all views.

  4. (Optional) Select the CI type of the CIs to be tested against the policy.

  5. In the Restrictions area, define the required automation/CI conditions.

  6. Click Save in the Automation Policies toolbar to save your policy.
