How to create a PPM project from a proposal

You can create a PPM project from a Service Management proposal. This enables you to manage the project's lifecycle in PPM directly. By default, PPM projects are created from Service Management proposals once per hour. To manually create a PPM project, follow these steps.

Prerequisite: Before you start to create a project in PPM, make sure you have configured the endpoints as described in How to synchronize with PPM.

  1. From the main menu, select Plan > Idea & Proposal > Proposals.

  2. Select the proposal that you want to synchronize in PPM.

To filter the record list, click the Add filter  button. For more information, see Filters.

  3. Click the proposal identifier in the Id column to display the selected proposal.

The proposal is displayed with the General tab selected.

  4. In the Review decision field of the Review details section , select Approve.

Note You can edit the Review decision field only in the Review phase.

  5. In the Review feedback field, enter the review feedback that supports your review decision.
  6. Click Save.
  7. At the top of the proposal form, click Sync now.

Note This button appears only when you select Yes in the Enable manual Sync field of the Endpoint tab through Administration > Utilities > Integration. For more information, see How to synchronize with PPM.

  8. Click Refresh.

Two fields under Review are updated:

    • External object URL: displays the link to the project record in PPM.
    • Sync status details: displays the synchronization status.

The PPM project has been created successfully. To view the project record in PPM, click the link in External object URL.
