How to compare scenarios

You can select two or three previously saved scenarios and compare them.

  1. From the main menu, select Plan > Project & Program > Project Portfolios. Service Management displays a list of project portfolios.
  2. Click the Scenarios tab and select the portfolio that contains the scenarios you want to compare.
  3. Select two or three scenarios.
  4. Click  Compare scenarios. Service Management generates a page that displays the differences between each of the selected scenarios.

    • The Summary section lists all of the constraints that were set for each scenario (cost, budget, resource capacity, and so on).
    • The Details section lists the specific proposals that were selected for each scenario.
    • The Charts section compares resource demand by resource type, cost by business unit, and cost by quarter for each scenario.

      The Resource demand by resource type chart shows up to the four resource types with the highest demand individually, and aggregates the remaining resource types, if any, into a single entry.
