Configuring the Event Backward Synchronization

For the closing of events in OMi to propagate back to IBM Tivoli, perform the following steps on your Operations Connector host:

  1. Open the event backward synchronization configuration file in a plain text editor:

    <OvDataDir>/conf/backsync/HPBsmIntTivoli-backsync.cfg

  2. Configure the following options:

     
    Options Description

    objServer

    Fully qualified domain name of the ObjectServer where IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus is installed.

    port

    Port number of IBM Tivoli ObjectServer.

    username Name of the IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus user account. This user must have permissions to update the alerts.status table.
    connToken Password of the IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus user account.
    logging

    This option enables or disables logging. Use the value 1 to enable or 0 to disable logging.

    logfile

    Path to the event backward synchronization log file. In the beginning of the path, you can use an environment variable.

    Default value: {OvDataDir}/log/HPBsmIntTivoli_backsync.log

    tracing

    This option enables or disables tracing. Use the value 1 to enable or 0 to disable tracing.

    tracefile

    Path to the event backward synchronization trace file. In the beginning of the path, you can use an environment variable.

    Default value:
    {OvDataDir}/log/HPBsmIntTivoli_backsync.trace

  3. Restart the event backward synchronization service:

    ovc -restart ombacksync
