Installing Ops Connector for OEM

To obtain and install Ops Connector for OEM, perform the following steps:

  1. From the web site Marketplace, download the Ops Connector for OEM product installation package (product image archive) for the target operating system (on the Operations Connector host).

  2. Store the product image archive in a temporary location on the Operations Connector host.

  3. Check if there are Operations Connector complements for other systems management applications already installed on the Operations Connector host. If such complements are present, stop their integration services.

Ops Connector for OEM may include a newer version of GenInt from the already installed Operations Connector complements. In this case, the installed GenInt is upgraded. GenInt is backward compatible.

  4. Install Ops Connector for OEM on the Operations Connector host as follows, depending on the target operating system:

    • Windows:

      1. Launch Windows Explorer and locally unzip the product image archive
        ProductImage-HPBsmIntOEM-<Version>-Win5.2_64-release.zip.

      2. To start the installer program, change the current directory to
ProductImage-HPBsmIntOEM-<Version>-Win5.2_64-release and double-click the following file:

        HPBsmIntOEM_<Version>_setup.exe

      3. Follow the onscreen instructions. If all prerequisite checks pass, click Install to start the installation.

      4. To close the installer program, click Done after the installation completes.

    • Linux:

      1. Open command shell and locally untar the product image archive
        ProductImage-HPBsmIntOEM-<Version>-Linux2.6_64-release.tar.

      2. To start the installer program, change the current directory to
ProductImage-HPBsmIntOEM-<Version>-Linux2.6_64-release and run the following command:

        HPBsmIntOEM_<Version>_setup.bin

      3. Follow the onscreen instructions. If all prerequisite checks pass, click Install to start the installation.

If the installation is invoked from a remote client without the X Window System support, it starts in the command-shell mode instead of the graphical mode. In this case, enter your choices using your keyboard.

      4. To close the installer program, click Done after the installation completes.

  5. If there are Operations Connector complements for other third-party system management applications already installed on the Operations Connector host, start the integration services of these complements again.

Once the installation of Ops Connector for OEM 3.11 is complete, all events, metrics and topology related policies are automatically imported to Operations Connector web interface..
