Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Verify the SAML SSO setup for Service Manager and Service Portal
Once you have completed all configurations required for SAML SSO based on the Service Portal IdM (see Enable SAML SSO for Service Portal and Configure SAML SSO in Service Manager (using standalone IdM)), you are ready to test if the setup is successful.
Tip If any of the verification steps fails, see Troubleshoot Service Manager SAML SSO setup.
To verify the set up, follow these steps:
- Make sure all components are started, including the SM Server, client (web tier, SRC, or Mobility Client), Service Portal, and the identity provider (IdP, that is, ADFS).
- Launch Service Portal from a supported browser, verify that the browser redirects you to the IdP login page, and then enter your credentials to log in to Service Portal.
-
Launch the Service Manager web application URLs from the same browser, and verify that you are automatically logged in to the web applications:
- SM web tier URL: http://<web tier host>:<port>/<web tier name>/index.do
- SRC URL: http://<SRC host>:<port>/<SRC application name>
- Mobility Client URL: http://<Mobility Client host>:<port>/<Mobility application name>
Note ADFS does not allow you to select a login language. You are logged in to Service Manager with a language depending on which client you are using:
- Web tier client: your browser language if the acceptBrwoserLang parameter is set to true (default), or your operator's language if this parameter is set to false
- SRC and Mobility Client: your browser language
- Log out of Service Portal, and verify that you are automatically logged out of the Service Manager web applications.
- Log in to the Service Manager web tier, and verify that you are automatically logged in to Service Portal.
