Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.

This page enables you to define and edit configuration policies.

Important information | The left pane contains an expandable list of the policies. The details pane displays details for the policy selected in the left pane. |

Preview. Opens the Policy Preview dialog box, which provides a preview of the satisfaction level of the selected policy over the selected views. In previews of baseline policies, you can select a CI and drill down to analyze its details. Note Only views for which the user has View permission are sent to the server and are displayed in the preview results. If a user does not have View permission for a particular view and attempts to preview it, an error message is displayed. |

Recalculate Policy Analysis. Recalculates the policy analysis for the selected policy. | |
Export Report. Enables you to choose the export format for the Policies Report data. The available options are:
The currently applied filters are taken into account when generating output for reports. |

Refresh. Refreshes the policy list. |
Important information | Click the arrow next to Policies (the root of the policies tree) to expand the tree. Click the arrow next to a policy group to expand the list of policies in the group. |

Grouping (for Similarity policies) |
This section is used to specify groups of CIs that need to be similar. CIs will be compared for similarity to each other only if they are located within the same group. The Enable grouping by CI type and pattern check box is selected by default. This section includes:

Similarity Criteria (for Similarity policies) |
This section is used to specify the CI type and attributes to be tested against the policy. By default, all components and attributes in the selected CIs are included. If you do not want a specific component to be included, clear the check box next to that component. When you remove a component from the similarity criteria, all of its attributes are automatically removed from the scope as well. You can include a component, but remove all of its attributes from the scope by clearing the check box in the title bar next to Attribute Name, or you can remove selected attributes by clearing those check boxes. The comparison scope CI (to which the similarity criteria apply) is automatically selected when you use the Grouping option. |
Validity | This section is used to specify the scope of the policy's validity. Click the calendar buttons to select the dates and times for the beginning and end of the period. |
Views | The Assign policies to views field lists the views to which this policy applies. Click the button to open the Select Views dialog box, which enables you to select the views to which the policy applies. |

CI Type |
Select a CI type from the baseline. The attributes for this CI type are displayed in the table. Note It is possible to select more than one CIT of the same type in the baseline. This is known as Common Definition mode. In this mode, any changes you make to one of the selected CITs apply to all of them. |
Consider additional internal CIs as breach | When you select Consider additional internal CIs as breach, the CI being compared to this baseline is considered in breach of the policy if it has additional internal CIs. |
Operator column | Select an operator defining the relationship between the attribute and its value. For details, see Attribute Operators. |
