Install

Before installing OpsCx for OneView, go through a list of the supported operating systems and consider the prerequisites. Before you start with the installation process, familiarize yourself with the conventions listed in the table in this section.

Installation and initial configuration of the OpsCx for OneView involves the following high-level steps:

  1. Install Operations Connector.

    • Install the Operations Connector before you install the OpsCx for OneView.
    • Operations Connector must be able to connect and integrate into OMi.

    For supported versions, see Prerequisites topic.

  2. Download the OpsCx for OneView product image appropriate for your Operations Connector platform from the Marketplace and store it in a temporary location on the Operations Connector host system.

  3. Unpack and install the OpsCx for OneView.

Conventions Used in the Installation, Configuration, and Other Procedures

The following placeholders are used in the instructions throughout this document. When performing the steps specify the actual value in place of each placeholder.

Placeholder Represents Examples / Default Values
<version> Version number of the OpsCx for OneView Example: 02.02.011

This string represents the version 2.02

and the build number 011

<date> File creation date

Example: 2017.02.12

Represents a file created 12 February, 2017.

<TEMP> Location for temporary files

Windows: Value of the environment variable TEMP

Default: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp

Linux: /tmp

%OvInstallDir%

(used only in Windows paths)

Directory where the OpsCx for OneView is installed

Default value (Windows):
C:\Program Files\HP\HP BTO Software

Value (Linux):
/opt/OV

%OvDataDir%

(used only in Windows paths)

Data directory of the Operations Agent, used also by OpsCx for OneView

Default:
C:\ProgramData\HP\HP BTO Software

(By default, the directory C:\ProgramData is hidden.)

Default:

/var/opt/OV/

All paths in this document use slashes (/) as path delimiters except in contexts where the operating system specifics are stated. When performing the steps use the path delimiters that your operating system supports.
