Error during the installation of OpsCx for SAP Solution Manager on Operations Connector 10.11

Symptom

When installing the OpsCx for SAP Solution Manager on Operations Connector 10.11, the installation fails due to a prerequisite check of Operations Connector. The installation checks whether the Operations Connector is installed on the system. This check fails because of the name change of the framework from BSM Connector to Operations Connector.

Action

For Operations Connector 10.11, to install the OpsCx for SAP Solution Manager, run the following command:

<Connector_Installer.exe> -DSKIPCHECKS=true

Event description field in the Event Browser shows an incorrect value

Symptom

If an event does not have a description, the corresponding text box shows the following unresolved variable instead of an empty field:

<$DATA:/sap_event_message/Alert/AlertInstances/AlertInstance/Description>

Action

You can safely ignore this issue.

Some of the SAP Solution Manager topology items are not received in OMi

Symptom

Only the SAP Self-Discovery and database topology items are received in OMi.

Other SAP Solution Manager topology items, such as Java application server or ABAP application server instances, are not received.

Workaround

  1. Deactivate the SAP Solution Manager topology policy.

  2. Clear the cache:

    1. Go to the directory %OvDataDir%datafiles/topo/<policy_id> (Windows) or /var/opt/OV/datafiles/topo/<policy_id> (Linux).

    2. Remove the following files:

      delta.xml
      repository.xml
  3. Reactivate the topology policy.
