A single word	`cat`	Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats".
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase.	`"cat food"` (quotation marks)	Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase.

Application Teaching Overview

Application Teaching is a process that you can use to increase the number of applications (or versions of existing applications) that Universal Discovery recognizes on your scanned devices.

There are four methods that you can use to “teach” new applications to Universal Discovery:

• Teaching Using Scan Files

• Rule-Based Application Teaching

• Teaching Using Recognition Objectives

The first method is currently supported for Windows platforms only. The last three methods are supported for both Windows and UNIX platforms.
