Obtaining the Microsoft SCOM SDK Assembly Files

To make the required assembly files (dynamic link libraries) of the Microsoft System Center Operations Manager SDK available to OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM, perform the following steps:

  1. Depending on whether you have access to the Microsoft SCOM host, proceed as follows:

    • If you have access:

      1. Locate the following files in the <SCOMHome>\SDK Binaries directory on the Microsoft SCOM host:

Ops Connector for SCOM 2012 or later:

        Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Core.dll
        Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.OperationsManager.dll
        Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Runtime.dll

        Ops Connector for SCOM 2007:

        Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.OperationsManager.Common.dll
        Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.OperationsManager.dll

      2. Copy the files to a temporary directory on the Operations Connector host. This directory is referred to as <SDKAssemblyFilesDir> in the remainder of the document.

If you are copying assembly files for multiple Microsoft SCOM versions, choose a different temporary directory for each file group to prevent overwriting the file with the same name.

    • If you do not have access:

Ops Connector for SCOM 2012 or later:

      1. Open a web browser and navigate to the web site http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-system-center.

      2. In the System Center <version> Download part, click Sign In.

      3. On the Sign in to your Microsoft account web page, enter the e-mail address and password of your Microsoft account, and click Sign in. If you do not have a free Microsoft account, click Sign Up to get one.

      4. On the Technet Evaluation Center web page, in the System Center <version> Download part, click Register to continue.

      5. Enter the required data and click Continue.

      6. In the line next to SC<version>SCOM<*>.exe, click Download, and save the self‑extracting archive SC<version>SCOM<*>.exe to a temporary location. If prompted, allow saving the file.

      7. Run SC<version>SCOM<*>.exe. If prompted, click Run to allow opening the file.

      8. If prompted, click Yes to allow the program to make changes to your system. The SC<version> SCOM Setup Wizard window opens.

      9. In the Setup Wizard, click Next.

      10. Optional: To select a different directory for extracted contents, click Browse, navigate to the chosen directory, and then click OK.

      11. Click Next and then click Extract on the next page.

      12. When the process completes, close the Setup Wizard by clicking Finish.

      13. Launch Windows Explorer and navigate to the directory you extracted the files to. From this directory, navigate to the setup\AMD64 subdirectory.
