How to Organize the Management Zones Tree

The following table describes the tasks that allow you to organize the Management Zones tree.

Tasks Actions
Create a new folder
  1. Perform one of the following actions:

    • Select the folder under which you want to create the new folder, and then click New Folder .
    • Right-click the folder under which you want to create the new folder, and then click New Folder from the context menu.
  2. Enter the folder name, and then click OK.

    Note The folder name cannot contain any of the following characters: /\%|:"<>?

Rename a folder
  1. Right-click the Management Zone folder, and then click Rename Folder from the context menu.
  2. Enter the new folder name, and then click OK.

Rename a management zone

  1. Deactivate the selected management zone and all activities in the management zone.
  2. Right-click the Management Zone, and then select Rename from the context menu.
  3. Enter the new management zone name, and then click OK.
  4. Go to the C:\UCMDB\DataFlowProbe\runtime\communicationLog directory, perform a backup of the communication log directories belonging to the jobs with the old management zone naming (if necessary), and manually clean up these directories.

Rename an activity

  1. Deactivate the selected discovery activity that you want to rename.
  2. Right-click the deactivated activity, and then select Rename from the context menu.
  3. Enter the new activity name, and then click OK.
  4. Go to the C:\UCMDB\DataFlowProbe\runtime\communicationLog directory, perform a backup of the communication log directories belonging to the jobs with the old management zone naming (if necessary), and manually clean up these directories.

Move a Management Zone into a different folder Drag the Management Zone to the target folder.
Move a folder into another folder Drag the folder to the target folder.
Delete a folder

Use one of the following methods to delete a folder:

  • Select the Management Zone folder, and then click Delete .
  • Right-click the Management Zone folder, and then click Delete Folder from the context menu.

Note When you delete a folder, all the Management Zones under the folder are also deleted.
