Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

How to Install the Universal Discovery Agent with the Agent Driven Flow Enabled
This task describes how to install the Universal Discovery (UD) Agent with the Agent driven flow enabled using discovery jobs or manually on remote machines.
-
Prerequisite
- Ensure that the platform of the remote machine on which you want to install the UD Agent is supported.
- For more information, see Universal Discovery Agent Deployment.
- For a list of out-of-the-box supported versions, see Supported Content section of the Content Help.
-
Run the following command to check if there is an Alias name as smartagent in the Data Flow Probe Truststore:
<DataFlowProbe_Home>\bin\jre\bin\keytool.exe -list -v -keystore <DataFlowProbe_Home>\conf\security\HPProbeTrustStore.jks -storepass logomania
If the Alias name smartagent exists, go to step 2. Otherwise, do the following:
- Create a self-signed certificate. For details, see Create a New Self-Signed Certificate for Two-Way SSL in Agent Driven Inventory Discovery.
-
Go to the <DataFlowProbe_Home>\conf\DataFlowProbeOverride.properties file, make sure that the jettyHttpsEnabled parameter is set to true. If there is no such a parameter, add jettyHttpsEnabled=true in this file.
- Restart Data Flow Probe.
-
Install the UD Agent with the Agent driven flow enabled
Use one of the following methods:
-
Results
Once the UD Agent with the Agent driven flow enabled is successfully installed, the necessary resources are downloaded automatically, including the scanner and scan schedule. Then the scanner automatically runs for once and then send scan file back to Data Flow Probe. The next scan time is in accordance with the configuration in the agentDrivenInventoryConfiguration.xml. For details about this file, see "Agent Driven Inventory Discovery Configuration File" in the Discovery Modules section of the Content Help.
To verify that the Data Flow Probe can communicate with the remote UD Agent, check UD Agent Status in CI Type Manager.
