Importing an SAP Transport into the SAP Solution Manager System

An SAP transport is a package used to transfer data to the Operations Connector host system. To import it into the SAP Solution Manager system, follow these steps:

  1. Copy the HPBsmIntSapSolma.car file from the <OvDataDir>\installation\HPBsmIntSapSolma\trans directory on your Operations Connector system to your SAP Solution Manager system.

  2. Unzip the transport file:

    sapcar -xvf HPBsmIntSapSolma.car

For detailed information about the contents of the transport file, see the readme file that you can find at the same location as the transport file itself.

  3. On the development server, navigate to the trans directory.

  4. Copy the K Type Transport to the cofile directory and the R Type Transport to the data directory, both located in the trans directory.

  5. On the SAP Solution Manager system, enter STMS (SAP Transport Management System) as the transaction code.
  6. Press F5 or click theicon to proceed to the import queue, and then double-click the appropriate development system.
  7. In the Extras menu, select Other Requests > Add.
  8. In the Add Transport Request to Import Queue dialog box, do the following:

    1. Enter your target client number (for example, 100).
    2. Select the Transp. Request field.

Search for your SAP transports using a wildcard search—enter * followed by the digit code of the transport files and make sure that the result number limit is high enough so that the result list contains the item you are searching for. Do not include the .MP1 extension when searching for your SAP transports.

    3. After you find your transport number, select it.

    4. Only if you are reimporting the transport: Select the Import Again check box.
    5. After all the fields are set, click the check mark to continue.

  9. In the Import Transport Request dialog box, in the Options property page, select Ignore Invalid Component Version and click the check mark to add a transport request to the import queue.

    1. Enter SOLMAN_WORKCENTER as the transaction code, and then click the SAP Solution Manager: Configuration tab.

    2. On the left panel, select Technical Monitoring.

    3. Select step 2 Configure Infrastructure, and when it expands, select step 2.3 Default settings.

    4. Click the Edit button, which enables activating the third-party component.
