Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.

Configure
Essential Configuration
Essential configuration of Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM consists of several tasks. Complete them in the following order:

Adjust a few OMi settings.
This task is mandatory only if you plan to collect Microsoft SCOM topology.

Create the integration services.
This common task is mandatory for any type of data you plan to collect.

Configure the connection between Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM and the Microsoft SCOM instance.
This common task is mandatory for any type of data you plan to collect.

Configure the event integration.
This task is mandatory for collecting events.

Configure the topology integration.
This task is mandatory for collecting topology. If you intend to enrich the collected Microsoft SCOM events with topology-related information, you must configure the topology integration before the event integration.

Configure the metric integration.
This task is mandatory for collecting metrics.

Activate the Operations Connector policies.
This common task is mandatory for any type of data you plan to collect.

Start the configured integration services.
This common task is mandatory for any type of data you plan to collect.
If Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM will not be used to integrate all supported types of Microsoft SCOM entities, you can omit irrelevant configuration tasks.
After the initial configuration, you can make changes to the configuration by following the instructions in the appropriate section.
Advanced Configuration
Advanced configuration of Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM is not mandatory. It includes the following tasks:

Configure the behavior of the event, topology, and metric integrations in Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM. See Configuration Options.

Customize the default Microsoft SCOM event, topology, and metric mappings available in Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM. See Entity Mappings.
Service provider recommends advanced configuration tasks are performed only by users with sufficient knowledge of Microsoft SCOM.
Integration with Multiple Microsoft SCOM Instances
Configuration of Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM for collection of data from the second and each additional instance of Microsoft SCOM is the same as for the single-instance setup. To integrate the product with such an instance:

Complete the applicable configuration tasks in the order presented in the Essential Configuration passage.

Optional: To customize Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM behavior, perform tasks listed in the Advanced Configuration passage.
Configuration of Operations Connector for High Availability
Configuration of Operations Connector for High Availability includes the following tasks:

Install and configure Operations Connector manually on all nodes comprising the Operations Connector cluster. Complete the applicable configuration tasks in the order presented in the Essential Configuration passage.
- Optional: To customize Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM behavior, perform tasks listed in the Advanced Configuration passage.
- Configure Operations Connector for High Availability. For more information about configuration steps, see Configuring Operations Connector for High Availability topic.
