Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Entity Mappings
The following sections list and describe the preconfigured mappings of the Microsoft SCOM entity types in OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM. These mappings suit most use cases. If necessary, you can manually modify them in the Operations Connector web interface.

Mappings Used in the Metric Integration
Service provider recommends to initially test the preconfigured mappings provided with OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM before adapting or enhancing them.
Modifying Operations Connector Policies
Each integrated Microsoft SCOM entity type has its own policies in OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM. You can modify them or create new ones to cover additional objects by using the policy editor of Operations Connector. A list of policies is accessible from the Operations Connector web interface.
Service provider recommends to back up the policy files before modifying a policy. Alternatively, you can copy the files and make changes to the copies instead of modifying the originals. For instructions on how to back up the OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM configuration, see Backing up the Configuration topic.
-
To change a policy, do one of the following:
-
Select the policy and click the (Edit) icon in the toolbar.
-
Right-click the policy and select Edit.
-
-
To create a new policy, click the (New) icon in the toolbar.
Keep track of any rules you have added to or changed in an existing default policy provided as part of the product. This will help to keep the behavior of the integrations consistent after future product upgrades.
For comprehensive information about the Operations Connector web interface and the policy editor, see the Operations Connector User section.
