Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Configuring the Event Integration
To configure the event integration with the selected Microsoft SCOM instance, perform the following:
-
Launch the Configuration Utility of Operations Connector for Microsoft SCOM:
Windows Server 2012: On the Start screen, click the application shortcut HPSCOMConfig. In the Apps view, you can find it in the group.
Windows Server 2008: Navigate to Start > All Programs > HP > HPBsmIntSCOM and then double-click HPSCOMConfig.
-
In the Processes page, in the Currently Configured Processes part, select a process set from the currently configured processes.
-
Click the Events & Connector Registration tab.
-
In the Event Collection Scope part, select one of the following:
-
Collect all events—to collect all available events
-
Collect events related to selected topology scope—to collect the events that originate from the selected topology only (this option is available when the topology integration is already configured with a defined topology collection scope)
If you changed the selection event collection scope, click Update.
When Collect events related to selected topology scope is selected, click the Update button to align the event collection scope with your topology collection changes after you modify the list of the selected configuration topology groups on the Topology page.
-
-
To enable collection of events, you must register OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM as a product connector with the integrated Microsoft SCOM instance:
-
To check current registration state and to verify that no other instances of OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM 3.02 are registered as product connectors with the same Microsoft SCOM instance, click Check
-
If the value of the Registration Status text box changes from
Unknown
toNot registered
, proceed to the next substep. -
If OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM reports that the connector as already registered from a different system, and the value of the Registration Status text box changes from
Unknown
toRegistered
, cancel registration of the product connector on the remote host, and then repeat this substep.
If multiple product connectors are connected to the same Microsoft SCOM instance, and at least one of these connectors is registered with Microsoft SCOM, the events are distributed between all connectors, and they steal each other's events.
If the value of the Registration Status text box changes to
Registered
after you click Check, a connector is already registered with the specified Microsoft SCOM instance. If this is not intentional and you expect your connector to receive all events from Microsoft SCOM, you must investigate the purpose of the other connector to make one of the following decisions:-
Stop and cancel registration of the existing connector
-
Use the existing connector instead of the connector you are trying to register
-
Let the connectors steal each other's events.
-
-
To register your OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM as a product connector with the Microsoft SCOM instance, click Register.
When the product connector is successfully registered, the label of the Register button changes to Deregister. Clicking Deregister enables you to cancel the registration in the future.
-
Verify that OpsCx for Microsoft SCOM is listed as a product connector in Microsoft SCOM:
-
Log on to the Microsoft SCOM web console.
-
To display a list of registered product connectors, navigate to Administration > Product Connectors > Internal Connectors. The connector
HPSCOMConnector
is listed.
-
-
-
Click OK to close the Configuration Utility.
