Add a Configuration Management profile

Applies to User Roles:

System Administrator

Configuration Management profiles enable administrators to selectively assign access and security to users through the interaction of user roles and profiles. You can add Configuration Management profiles to the out-of-box profiles.

Note If you are not sure what information is available in the fields on the tabs you select, you can click Fill to generate a record list of possible options, and then choose an option.

To add a new profile, follow these steps:

  1. Click System Administration > Ongoing Maintenance > Profiles > Configuration Management Profiles.
  2. Type the name of the new profile in the Profile name field.
  3. Select or clear privileges and view settings for security and other Configuration Management profile options.
  4. Click Add.

To add a new profile by using an existing profile, follow these steps:

  1. Click System Administration > Ongoing Maintenance > Profiles > Configuration Management Profiles.
  2. Use search or advanced search to find one or more records.
  3. Select a profile from the list that most closely matches the profile you want to add.
  4. Type the new name of the profile in the Profile name field.
  5. Add or change information on the form to select the applicable privileges and view settings for the security and other Configuration Management profile options.
  6. Click Add.

Caution Make sure that you do not click Save because doing so will replace the existing profile with the new profile you are attempting to add.
