Configure

Essential Configuration

Essential configuration of Ops Connector for OEM consists of several tasks. Complete them in the following order:

  1. Adjust a few OMi settings.

This task is mandatory only if you plan to collect Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) topology.

  2. Configure the event integration: set the event integration options, and activate the policy for OEM events.

    1. Configure Event Connector on the Oracle Enterprise Manager host. See the relevant parts in Installing and Configuring Event Connector topic.

You can skip this step if it is already configured as part of Ops Connector for OEM 3.10.

  3. Configure the topology integration: set the topology integration options, and activate the policy for OEM topology.

This task is mandatory for collecting topology.

  4. Configure the metric integration: set the metric integration options, and activate the policy for OEM metrics.

This task is mandatory for collecting metrics.

If Ops Connector for OEM is used to integrate multiple types of Oracle Enterprise Manager entities, you can combine specific steps from the otherwise separate configuration procedures.

Advanced Configuration

Advanced configuration of Ops Connector for OEM is not mandatory. It includes the following tasks:

  • Configure the behavior of the event, topology, and metric integrations.

  • Customize the event, topology, and metric mappings available in Ops Connector for OEM by default.

  • Extend the set of OEM target types acquired from the OEM database.

Service provider recommends that advanced configuration tasks are performed only by users with sufficient knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager.
