Install and Run Data Flow Probe and Probe Database on Linux with Non-Root User Account

You can install and run Data Flow Probe and probe database on a Linux system using a non-root user account, just like using a root user account.

This capability is applicable to union mode Data Flow Probe.

After the probe installation is complete, it requires manual registration of probe service with root account privileges to enable the probe automatic restart capability when system reboots. If you want to delete the probe service, the root account privileges are also required.

With a non-root user account, you can only start and run the probes you installed using the non-root user account.

For detailed instructions about how to install a probe using a non-root user account, see the "Data Flow Probe - Linux Installation" section in the interactive Deployment Guide.
