Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.

What is a self-service power user?
A self-service power user has two ways to access Service Desk. The access method depends on the task to complete:
- They have a Service Desk profile that enables them to log on to Service Desk (or other HPE Service Manager applications) using the Windows client connection dialog or any valid Web client URL to view, add, update, or delete records. For example, the user has a Service Desk profile that enables the user to take service requests and provide services to a user community.
- They have a self-service profile that enables them to initiate service requests through a self-service URL. For example, a self-service user can use this feature to request services.
The following table shows how a user can access Service Manager in self-service or power user mode.
