Posting to the central Knowledge Base

Administrators can enable automatic or manual posting to the Knowledge Base by setting options in the environment record, phase record, or user profile record.

Type of posting Required action Setting Comments
Automatic Click System Administration > Ongoing Maintenance > Environment Records > Problem Management Environment. Select Automatically Post to Knowledge Management. Required for automatic posting.
Click Problem Management > Administration > Problem Control Phases. Specify true in one or more fields in the Post problem Information to Knowledgebase section. Specifies additional filtering criteria for automatic posting from problem records.
Click Problem Management > Administration > Error Control Phases. Specify true in one or more fields in the Post Known Error Information to Knowledgebase section. Specifies additional filtering criteria for automatic posting from known error records.
Manual Click System Administration > Ongoing Maintenance > Profiles > Problem Management Profiles Select Post to Knowledge. Required for manual posting.

Note: You can enable either automatic or manual posting, or both.
